According to Bioenergy Europe, the global wood pellet market set new highs in 2025. The association published coverage of its Pellet Statistical Report on 24 June 2026 from Brussels. According to Bioenergy Europe, global wood-pellet production reached 53.5 million tonnes in 2025. That is +10% versus 2024. The association describes this as the strongest year-on-year growth in recent years.
According to the same report coverage, global pellet consumption reached 51.5 million tonnes. Bioenergy Europe presents this as a new all-time high. The total covers industrial and small-scale use.
According to Bioenergy Europe, Europe is the world’s largest pellet-consuming region. The association puts Europe at 70% of global demand when industrial and small-scale use are combined.
